progress update TWO




well, it's been 2 months since the last progress update..
so, what did I make in 2 months? not much actually...
I spent most of my time adding new level themes and fixing bugs and adding quality of life features to make the game feel better and smoother to play
the update will take longer than expected and that is because the amount of levels needed for it is alot and I don't have half of them completed
but I have went back to older levels and revamped them so they fit in with the newer levels that have been added
so for now I'll simply list a few of things I did:
- completely fixed the UI and pausing.
- added a few cutscenes and things to make working on more cutscenes easier in the future.
- added functional 2 player (still unfinished)
- added Robo-Chan, a shopkeeper that will sell you very useful items to help you in your journey!
- added Vivi, Eyeball and Shade! (NPCs that you can talk to and are relevant to the story!)
- removed the bullet counter (you can now infinitely shoot without needing to reload)
- added volume controls (you can now control the master volume by pressing subtract or add and you can press multiply to set the volume to 0 instantly
- added a bunch of new level types and stage gimmicks with more to come!
the new stages include:
( ice mountains, enemy sky bases, factory, green city (remade), mansions and spooky forests, beach and underwater)
new stage gimmicks include:
directional wind: wind pushes you in a certain direction.
revamped underwater: basic underwater physics with the added bonus of infinitely wall jumping.
shadow scrap collection: collect a certain amount of a dark variant of scrap to continue to the next room.
blackout: stage gets darker making it harder to see.
power-surge: a section of the stage that takes place near the end where your enemies try to stop you no matter what even if it means shifting the level layout or coming for you themselves. as an added bonus your weapon becomes overcharged for a certain amount of time where it will demolish everything in your way for you until the time runs out then it'll go back to normal.
there are probably more things that I forgot about
nonetheless version 0.3 will be the most content heavy update so far.
